Quilt Market Fall 2008: Kaffe Fassett

Kaffe Fassett and the wonderful Liza Prior Lucy, the woman responsible for bringing Kaffe’s work to the quilting world, were at Market too. As you know, I’m a huge fan of Kaffe’s fabric (and the Rowan designers in general) Liza is a fan of True Up (!) so I was very excited to meet them both. Kaffe stayed mostly quiet while Liza showed me the newest prints. I learned that they favor building upon the existing body of work to create one huge collection that all works together, rather than putting out distinct collections seasonally which seems to be the typical practice in the quilt fabric business.

Above: Liza with Kaffe as he signs copies of his newest quilt pattern book, Country Garden Quilts. Also look for some gorgeous, reusable, waterproof Kaffe Fassett shopping bags in Liza’s Glorious Color shop soon.

you have a very nice site and great info, I find that quilting is a very fine art and have seen many different types of guilts. I am in the stitch craft business also I buy and sell Singer 221 featherweight Sewing machines and I have sold these machines and parts to folks who belong to quilting clubs. I feel that quilting is getting to be quite a large hobby today with all that is going on and am glad to be apart of it!
