Urban Chiks: 1974

I’m loving Urban Chicks’ collection 1974 from Moda. Grass green, teal, wisteria, and red jump out most, but gray and yellow is also put to good use here in the versatile small-scale floral and geometric prints. The collection reminds me of waterbeds, cork tile, and big collars, but in a good way. Moda has ventured into the 70s before with Erin Michael’s Uptown. I wonder if anyone will ever be able to pull of an 80s-inspired line.

1974 is available from Hancock’s of Paducah, Sew Mama Sew, Fat Quarter Shop, Quilt Arts, Fabric Shack.

And you know what’s fun? Search Etsy’s supplies category for 1974 and you’ll get the fabric collection listed alongside vintage sewing patterns from that year. NICE.
