I would love to know who Gymboree‘s fabric designer is. The designs have a distinctly Japanese-cute thing going on. If you’re outside the U.S. (or you’re in the U.S. but have never had any kids to shop for), Gymboree is a chain of clothing stores and play gyms. They are too expensive in general, but have good sales and, as you can see from the cute patterns here, are worth a splurge now and then. (They also recently launched Crazy 8, which is supposed to be the Old Navy to their Gap.)
These fabrics are all from pieces that Otto has outgrown, but I’m keeping them around if ever there’s a baby #2.
A quick Google search reveals that there is a small secondary market for Gymboree (and other juvenile) fabric — it looks like people buy up clearance and used clothing, cut them up, and sell them to crafters and collectors.
