Eric Carle Very Hungry Caterpillar Fabric

Andover recently released a fabric line based on the classic children’s book The Very Hungry Caterpillar. I always thought Carle’s distinctive hand-painted paper collage work was calling out to be put on fabric. The line is perfect for a gender-neutral baby quilt (and here’s a pdf link to Andover’s free pattern) or for decorating a storybook-loving child’s room.

The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, Massachusetts (oh how I would love to visit!) is offering 10% off fabric purchases who order via the Museum website by May 31 — just mention True Up in the checkout form. The Museum is nonprofit so all proceeds go back to supporting the museum’s mission.

Once you make something, be sure to post your photos to the new The Eric Carle Fabric Flickr Group!
