Amy Butler – Midwest Modern – Orange Dahlia colorway

Amy Butler puts out so much great stuff, it’s hard to keep up! Her Midwest Modern quilting/fashion weight fabric line is in stores now, alongside Nigella (home dec weight). These are the colorways for Midwest Modern — I love the flowers that look like rippling waters, and the mod/deco-ish leaves and flowers print in the Ohio Sky and Pink Dahlia colorways.

And exciting news about her upcoming fabric lines! Amy says “I am launching several new fabric lines that I’m calling ‘collections in bloom.’ They are romantic collections inspired by gardens and wild fields along with some vintage inspirations.”

August Fields – home dec weight – available July 2008
Amy Butler Solids – quilting and home dec weights – available July 2008
Daisy Chain – quilting/fashion weight – October 2008

Solids? Woohoo! You might know how I love solids, and it’s always great to have more color choices. So in addition to Robert Kaufman Kona Cottons, Moda’s Bella, and RJR’s Cotton Supreme, we’ll have some from the distinctive Amy Butler palette. Cool!

  1. Ahava says:

The Pink Dahlia colorway is the inspiration for our living room in progress. It launched a fascination with yellow and gray for me and now I can’t get enough of it. (It doesn’t seem to come across on the computer, or at least my computer, but in the second row of that sample, the first and third fabrics are grey, yellow, and cream. *swoon*)

  2. Terriaw says:

this is very exciting news! I love the new Midwest Modern fabrics, and can’t wait to see the even newer fabric lines.

  3. Tamar says:

Oh, I am so happy not to be alone in my love of the solid-colored fabric! And Amy Butler solids – it’s like someone plugged into my thoughts. Hurray! Of course, new Amy Butler prints are plenty good too.
